Lower East Side – East Village
The Lower East Side has an indescribable uniqueness and energy. The vibrant neighborhood has seen shifting borders, but captures the best of NYC with its abundant offerings and blend of old meets new. From beautiful prewar homes to striking modern buildings, old standbys to exciting new culinary destinations, there is something here for everyone. The East Village, east of the Village in Manhattan, was traditionally considered part of the Lower East Side and occupies the portion north of Houston Street, south of 14th St and east of Broadway. It’s been widely recognized as the historical center of counterculture and become one of the city’s most adored areas with an eclectic restaurant scene, quaint shops, mix of housing styles, and the amazing 10.5-acre Tompkins Square Park.
