Upper East Side

For centuries, the Upper East Side was considered home to the rich and famous. Notable names like Vanderbilt, Carnegie, Schermerhorn, Lenox and others had mansions and townhouses gracing the streets closest to Central Park which served as their prestigious playground. What was once vast farmland became subdivided by NYC’s street grid in the 19th century, and construction began on some of the area’s most iconic residences which we still admire today. An influx of young students, professionals and families changed the vibe and attracted trendy new restaurants and other businesses to the neighborhood. There’s so much to love about living here, including world-class museums, art galleries, cultural institutions, designer boutiques, renowned culinary destinations, the East River Greenway, and Second Avenue subway.
